Australian Cricket Board is resting strike bowler Glenn McGrath for the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy to be held in India. The board wants to preserve the veteran bowler for the much-hyped Ashes Series against England.

After losing last year's Ashes series to England, the Australian Cricket Board is taking every possible steps to build a powerful team to field against the England.
Earlier, McGrath was not in Australian teams that toured South Africa and Bangladesh to serve his wife Jane. Jane is suffering from breast cancer.
Andrew Hildutch, the chairperson of selectors stated that McGrath would miss ICC Champions Trophy to ensure he is fresh for the Ashes showdown against England.
McGrath who appeared in the 119 Tests is working hard to remain fit for the Ashes series.
