Javed Miandad recently put in his resignation papers as Director General of the PCB. Now it appears that the Pakistan Cricket Board is not willing to accept the resignation and may extend his role.

In light of the captaincy changes where Younis Khan was appointed and Shoaib Mallik removed in light of the heavy defeat to Sri Lanka, though they were not directly attributed to, Miandad tendered his resignation apparently unhappy that his role as director were restricted under the new contract. Miandad, who often harboured dreams of coaching the Pakistan team, was not happy with the rather domestic cricket role that restricted him from the affairs of the international world. There was also speculation that perhaps the remuneration was also a reason for his move, though he has shot it down.
Now it appears that the PCB will in fact go through his role review again since they have declined to accept his resignation.
