Michael Clarke states he does not regret leaving the Australian tour of New Zealand following the fiasco that led to Lara Bingle's nude photos being released and the subsequent break up between the star eyed couple.

Although he rates his cricket highly, he felt at the time, that he was doing the right thing. He says so in a magazine in Australia which was then quoted by several Australian newspapers,

"My decision that I made there was what I thought was right.

"I respect playing for my country that much that I thought, if I’m going to let anybody down, I shouldn’t be here - there’s somebody else who could be doing a better job than me.

"Going home was the right decision at the time for me. I don’t regret that decision."

Bingle is said to have lost several endorsements, including Vodefone, following the split and has openly stated that life was not the same without Clarke.
