In a surprising move, Mitchell Johnson may well decide against entering the rat race for the IPL 3 season. But it will not be the first time he has done that.

Johnson is apparently weighing his options, knowing well that he can only be available for one half of the IPL in 2010 and it would be reducing his pay scale, which would have entitled him to much more had he been available for an entire season.
Besides, Johnson is also considering that it may be better to rest up ahead of the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 in the Caribbean and the Australian cricket season ahead.
Johnson had turned out the option apparently because it is not in his control to negotiate the terms of his contract as also the option of choosing which franchisee team he wishes to represent.
Johnson had turned down the IPL 2 last year for similar reasons, with the preparation for the Ashes being predominant on his mind.
