Even as the dust from the IPL 3 auctions is barely settling down, Lalit Modi unveils plans for a super auction for the IPL 4 season that will see two new teams and and a great deal more action as players are shuffled.

If the IPL 3 auctions have raised issues about the Pakistan cricketers not being picked, IPL 4 will have a special and exclusive IPL 4 auction in July 2010 for IPL 2011 when there is an estimated number of 500 cricketers that will go under the hammer.

The large contingent stems from the fact that the original proposal in adding two additional teams to bring the IPL teams from eight to ten also included shuffling all the players, loyalties notwithstanding.

However, perhaps keeping in mind some of the requests of the franchisees, Modi has relaxed the rule to now state that the teams can retain two foreign cricketers and four Indian cricketers for IPL 4. The rest will go back into the draw.

Additionally, some of the matches will be aired in the morning since the matches will significantly rise in number from 60 to 94!

Teams can also now picked 12 as opposed to 10 foreign cricketers but will still have to field just four in the final playing line up.

There is also a plan being devised to not allow any cricketer to play more than fourteen matches in a season to take into account player burn out and work overload.
