A second time round Lalit Modi is unmoved as he insists the IPL 3 will be played in India.

Amidst several reports of reservations from foreign cricketers to tour India for the IPL 3 season, the IPL Chairman and Commissioner is insisting there are no plans to move IPL 3 to a foreign location.
The IPL 2 was moved out of India to South Africa with growing concerns over security measures in the wake of the Lok Sabha elections. But Modi insists that the terror threats issued by the 313 Brigade (Al Qaeda) will not affect the positioning of the IPL 3.
While he states matter of factly that it would be impossible to give complete assurance of safeguarding people anywhere in the world, the IPL 3 was doing the regular rounds of updating its security measures and addressing concerns. He believes that not every threat can be construed as necessitating changing the location of events.
He said the IPL had a commitment to India and its credibility was on line. And since the IPL has India to owe for its success, financially or otherwise, and the fact that the IPL, even with the foreign cricketers, is essentially India-centric means that the IPL 3 will stay in India. He also stated that it would not be the end of the world if a couple of foreign cricketers decided against coming to India to participate in the tournament.
