After the BCCI President, Shashank Manohar, stated that some of the IPL documents had gone missing, it appears Lalit Modi had a change of heart. But did the BCCI have to force his hand?

Apparently the suspended IPL Chairman and Commissioner was in possession of certain IPL document, allegedly involving details of franchisee owners of the various teams, and the BCCI were finding it hard to trace these documents and procure them from Modi.
Modi was apparently asked to return the documents relating to the franchisee owners and those involving media rights by none other than N. Srinivasan and these were supposed to have been handed over to Prof. Ratnakar Shetty who Manohar had stated would have handling the matter of lost documents. There were also unsubstantiated reports that perhaps it was the BCCI who tipped off the raid on Modi's office to the Income Tax department after learning of the discrepancies and failing to lay hands on the records that went missing.
Modi, it is being speculated, has agreed to return all documents, provided he was given a letter in writing stating he had done the same.
