After speculation that the MCC is looking at an IPL team, Lalit Modi says there is a leading football giant from the UK also eye to become a team franchisee in IPL 4 2011.

The IPL Chairman and Commissioner has revealed that there is a huge amount of interest in owning an IPL team in IPL 4 when two new teams will be added to the existing eight.
While there is speculation that it may be the English Premier League (EPL) team, Manchester City, owner and Abu Dhabi based Sheikh Mansour that is eyeing an IPL team, Modi would not encourage the speculation. However, he says the range of people interested is diverse from industrialists, NRIs, film actors and foreign institutions.
Certainly the fact that the stakes have been raised is not bothering the buyers.
