Modi Says, IPL is Clean of Matchfixing; Allegations Motivated

The suspended IPL Chairman and Commissioner refutes allegations that match fixing, or spot fixing, could have featured in one of the three editions of the IPL and also, states that he had to speak out after being pushed against the wall.

Lalit Modi believes that the matter that precipitated the crisis that led to his suspension have not left him with regrets. He believes the franchisees of the Kochi team had something to hide, he did not like to the fact that he was being asked to tow the line and that he decided to come forward.

Modi also gave a clean chit to the IPL, saying, “There is absolutely no match-fixing in the IPL and the allegations being floated are just motivated by people to find ways and means of undermining all over the world what we have done. The IPL is an extremely competitive tournament. All the owners want to win. All the players want to win. We have zero doubts about their integrity.”
