The battle between the BCCI and Lalit Modi is certainly escalating even as the BCCI is planning an exit for the IPL Chairman and Commissioner even as Modi believes clearing the names of all stakeholders in the franchisees will clear his name.

Modi was unimpressed with the fact that N. Srinivasan, the BCCI secretary, had convened a meeting on the 26th of April, a day after the IPL 3 semi finals, to get into the depth of the IPL teams auction fiasco. Modi's contention was that the secretary had no right to do that with the BCCI retorting that Srinivasan was well within his right.

Modi himself, it is understood, wanted to bring together the BCCI and the IPL governing council members a few days after the IPL 3 conclusion and state the contentions of his battle with Shashi Taroor and on the subject of disclosing the details of the auctions and the present stakeholders of the IPL 3, which he says he wanted to reveal after the Shashi Taroor-Sunanda Pushkar fiasco but was stopped by the BCCI president, Shashank Manohar, who wanted to explore all legal possibilities before making any such decision.

Modi may now boycott the meeting altogether in which the board may decide to remove him from the post and have a detailed investigation done into the problem probably by the DDCA (Delhi District Cricket Association) president and BJP member, Arun Jaitley.
