The suspended IPL Chairman and Commissioner had apparently snubbed the idea of a Twenty20 league in the Emirates proposed by the husband of Bollywood actor, Shilpa Shetty, who are part owners of the Rajasthan Royals.

Lalit Modi apparently shot down the idea of a Twenty20 league in collusion with the Emirates Cricket Board. Kundra supposedly asked Modi to step in on behalf of BCCI or the IPL to help control the profitability factor of the league which would otherwise have had a Pakistan hand.
But Modi, it is learnt to have to told Raj Kundra in no uncertain terms, to stay out of the unorganized league.
