Lalit Modi is finding it tough to keep his detractors away from making his life utter misery ahead of the re election as Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) President. But he certainly wants outside interference to a minimal, apparent from his mood regarding the stance the ECB have cautioned will take in Flintoff’s case.

Lalit Modi is unhappy over comments made by the ECB over Andrew Flintoff’s injury status, stating they could caution Flintoff from playing in the IPL, the reason being to allow him to rest and recuperate in the interim and be in full preparedness for the Ashes not long after thereafter.
Modi has stated that what the player intends to do in the IPL is between the player and his franchisee team and that no third party, (read the ECB) has a right to come in between. The player’s decision would solely be in own and in conjunction with the franchisee, which is this case happens to be Chennai Super Kings.
Modi though knows that an injury clause could still come into contention but with Flintoff himself assuring he will be there, Modi would be better off worrying about his other ‘prize’ prospect- the President’s chair.
