Morgan Indicates Kotla May Not Be Banned

The words may sound like relief for the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and the BCCI.

The ICC president, David Morgan, has indicated that the ICC may go easy on the fiasco of the Ferozeshah Kotla pitch in New Delhi during the fifth ODI between India and Sri Lanka after the pitch was declared "unfit" by the match referee Alan Hurst.

A stringent ban could easily see New Delhi miss the 2011 ICC World Cup altogether. But from the indications, it is apparent that indeed the BCCI may not have to really work up a battle for arm twisting the ICC.

With Morgan stating explicitly that the ICC would not really like to see a World Cup in the Indian sub continent miss a venue like Delhi, it is clear that Delhi is likely to get away with a rap.
