Sreesanth may be returning home to India disappointed to have had injury play a role before India's tour of Sri Lanka got underway. But it is another lease of life for Munaf Patel.

Munaf Patel has been named as Sreesanth's replacement for the tour with Sreesanth limping on an injured left knee. The switch was confirmed by N. Srinivasan, the BCCI secretary, "S Sreesanth has sprained a ligament of his left knee, and been advised rest for 3-4 weeks. He will accordingly be returning to India. The All-India Selection Committee has picked Munaf Patel as his replacement in the Indian team that will be playing the Test series in Sri Lanka. Munaf will join the squad at the earliest."
Harbhajan Singh is also reportedly down with a viral fever. Although he will miss the tour match against the Board President's XI, he is expected to be fit in time for the first Test beginning the 18th of July.
