After Pakistan tottered in the first ODI against Sri Lanka chasing 233 despite the tail trying to do what Angelo Matthews did, Muttiah Muralitharan made the announcement about his retirement. But while his retirement decision comes on the heels of Chaminda Vaas calling it quits, Murali is not going anywhere any time soon.

Though he missed the Test series against Pakistan with a torn tendon, Muralitharan believes he wants to continue till November 2010 when West Indies tour Sri Lanka. He insists he would like to prolong his ODI career though to see out the 2011 World Cup now being co hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Muralitharan though wants to continue playing Twenty20 in a clear indication that he was far from over from making waves.
