Finally it has been confirmed, or on the verge of. India will play three Tests in New Zealand, thanks to the tour to Pakistan being called off.
The New Zealand Cricket Board has now agreed to three Test with India which means that Napier will be the likely venue after Hamilton and Wellington. Additionally there may also be two Twenty20 matches instead of one.
The New Zealand skipper, Daniel Vettori, is ecstatic about the prospect and was always in favour of a three Test match series. he is quoted as saying, “I think most players have been crying out for that third Test-match style series. I am excited.”
Word has it that given that the IPL is only two-three days away from the conclusion of the tour, the Test may be accommodated by sacrificing a tour match. Call it the bane of Twenty20!
