NZ Cricketers Down with Unhappy Belly

It is not just the Sri Lankans giving the New Zealanders the blues. They are also struck by a turbulent belly.

At least two New Zealand batsmen are reportedly sick and in no condition for a fourth day's play of the first Test at Galle even as New Zealand must fight to save the match.

Jesse Ryder, who played well in the first innings, was one of the two players definitely on the sick page and with the main wicket keeper, Brendon McCullum, down as well, the New Zealand's request to bring in Reece Young as the reserve into the match has been approved by the Sri Lankan team.

Ryder would have been the back up and according to New Zealand coach, Andy Moles, their best case would have Tim McIntosh but the opener is also under the weather.r

Maybe a little mercy in the time of distress.
