Only Umpires Will Call Time Out for Light Between Tests From Now on

The ICC has awarded the rights to take the players off the field solely at the discretion of the umpires during a Test match.

Earlier terms of play dictated that the first opportunity to call off play for bad light was given to the batsmen by the umpires and thereafter decisions during the day decided by the umpires.

But now only the umpire will have the first and last authority to decide when play is deemed too dangerous.
