This was on expected lines. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the Pakistan squad for the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa with Mohammad Asif coming back into the game.

Asif was expected to make the team given that his one year ban for doping ends in September, in time for the tournament, and also in the fact that he had cleared the fitness tests in Pakistan.
Expectedly Shoaib Akhtar has found no room in the dressing room for this contest and one has to wonder if this is the last straw as far as the Rawalpindi Express is concerned.
Pakistan have also left out rebel return from the ICL, Abdul Razzaq but have stated that it was in favour of a better all rounder, Rana Naved ul Hasan.
Younis Khan will lead the team, despite several rumours about captain and squad on the tour to Sri Lanka.
Pakistan's team for the ICC Champions Trophy: Younis Khan, Imran Nazir, Misbah-ul-Haq, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Naved-ul Hasan, Fawad Alam, Mohammad Yousuf, Kamran Akmal, Umar Gul, Mohammad Aamer, Mohammad Asif, Rao Iftikhar, Saeed Ajmal.
