The ICC has been trying to close the chapter on the 2011 World Cup hosting, but Pakistan is not backing away from taking potshots at their co hosts.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had suggested alternate venues such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi if Pakistan could not host the World Cup matches. However, other boards and the ICC are stated to have opposed the idea considering the location as well as the fact that only India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh had been handed the 2011 World Cup co hosting rights.
However, Pakistan is now stating that it was the Indian board that primarily opposed the move and deny Pakistan the opportunity of a proxy venue.
