Pakistan are dealing with the absence of the trio involved in spot fixing by naming a new squad for the Pakistan South Africa ODI series with a brand new manager but no captain yet.

Once again Pakistan have gone ahead and named their squad but failed to identify a captain. Shahid Afridi has led the ODI and Twenty20 captain, but the Pakistan selectors have not named him as captain, leaving some room for doubt.
Misbah ul Haq makes a comeback after frustratingly being left out of the Twenty20 squad for the ICC World Twenty20 while Shoaib Mallik finds no place in the squad that now includes some new names as well as old ones such as Shoaib Akhtar with Mohammad Aamer, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt facing a hearing with the ICC over the suspension regarding spot fixing. Kamran Akmal has undergone an appendicitis operation and his place as the wicket keeper will be taken over by Zulqarnain Haider.

Pakistan have also announced that Intikhab Alam will take over the role of the Pakistan team manager following the stepping down of Yawar Saeed at the end of the England Pakistan series.
Pakistan’s Squad for Pakistan South Africa series:
Imran Farhat, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Yousuf, Misbah-ul-Haq, Umar Akmal, Asad Shafiq, Fawad Alam, Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Abdur Rehman, Shoaib Akhtar, Tanveer Ahmed, Zulqarnain Haider.
