The Pakistan government has reacted to the allegations revolving around the match fixing scandal in England involving thier Pakistan cricket team. How they act now should have a telling effect as also how they clean up the act given that the culture prevailing in Pakistan is being blamed for the fiasco.

The Pakistan President, Asif Ali Zardari, has reacted with shock and anguish at the news of spot fixing in the course of the Lord's Test between England and Pakistan and asked the Pakistan Cricket Board to submit a preliminary inquiry into what transpired in England.
Pakistan Prime Minister, Yusuf Raza Gilani, has also called the incident "saddening" and forcing the country to "hang its head in shame".
Pakistan Sports Minsiter, Ijaz Jakhrani, has promised "exemplary punishment" stating that "guilty players shoudl forget playing cricket for the country in future", and stated they would await the inquiry by the police in London to conclude before deciding on the appropriate punishment.
