Rana Naved-ul-Hasan will not play Pakistan's first Test against England at Lords. He was injured while playing county match for Sussex earlier in the English season. There were speculations that Rana's injury is serious and needs surgery for complete recovery.

However, if the team sources have to believed, Rana is improving in his recovery. Pakistan is planning to give him a fitness test before the start of the warm-up match against England A at Canterbury.
The fitness test would decide the fate of this 28-year-old pacer. Meanwhile, England has selected Andrew Strauss to lead the host for the first test.
