Pakistan's Test Team Squad for West Indies Has Selectors Clashing Heads

The Pakistan cricket team always seems on the verge of a crisis and it would seem that the selection announcement of the Pakistan's Test squad for the West Indies is also causing reason for discomfort.

The Pakistan Cricket Board announced the selected Pakistan Test squad and it certainly included names that are virtually new in the international cricket world. However, having said that, it seemed that Pakistan's penchant for try out new faces as opposed to others has not been new.

However, even as the squad itself has raised eyebrows in a certain sense, it would seem that all is not perfect amongst the Pakistan selectors with Mohsin Khan even revealing that he may not continue much longer as the chief selector if the PCB did not intervene in matters that escalated as a result of that announcement.

What is surprising though is that while a couple of names may have raised eyebrows, it is common for selectors to have difference of opinions when it comes to picking squads. But that they would have such serious arguments as to make it untenable to continue in the post seems like a situation that has got out of hand.

With Pakistan having won the ODI series and the West Indies suffering a crisis of sorts of their own, one would thought that Pakistan cricket would see this as the perfect opportunity to redefine themselves in the eyes of the cricket loving public. However, as has often happened with Pakistan cricket, it is usually either the cricketers or the administrators who keep hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Pakistan's Test squad for the West Indies:

Misbah-ul-Haq ( Pakistan captain), Younis Khan, Taufeeq Umar, Mohammad Hafeez, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Mohammad Salman (wicket keeper), Saeed Ajmal, Abdur Rehman, Umar Akmal, Umar Gul, Wahab Riaz, Tanvir Ahmed, Junaid Khan, Hammad Azam
