The Indian Cricket League (ICL) is again in trouble. This time it is the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) questioning the credibility of the ICL. The proposed contracts of the ICL with few Pakistan players have also run into trouble in the wake of PCB banning its players from joining the league. What is the future of ICL, God knows!

First it was the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that did not approve the league refusing to endorse it, and now with the PCB prohibiting any of its contracted players to play on behalf of the league, the future of ICL seems doubtful.

Moreover, the refusal of the International Cricket Council (ICC) to recognize the league seems to be the most causative factor for the cricket boards to disallow their players to play for the ICL.
And Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting's open criticism of the league is another deterrent that shows an indirect warning by Cricket Australia to restrict its players for joining the ICL.
ICL is often seen as a reaction against BCCI's cricket business in India. Many players disenchanted by the business-politico leadership of the BCCI to join the league, but the strong opposition of the ICL by the BCCI and ICC, the future of the ICL seems to be in jeopardy.
