In the midst of the recall of Pakistan's Mohammad Yousuf is a controversy the Pakistan Cricket Board wants squashed before it becomes a raging bushfire.

Salman Butt, the Pakistan captain, was quoted as saying from England when queried over the possible recall of the former Pakistan captain that Yousuf could not by himself save Pakistan the blushes. He also hinted that the team management was in favour of ensuring the grooming of youngsters rather than be regressive in team management.
However, the Pakistan Cricket Board ( PCB ) has denied that the decision to include Yousuf was made in consultation with Butt and the Pakistan coach, Waqar Younis, and not against their wishes. Similar reports did the rounds after the PCB temporarily abandoned the idea of recall after Pakistan beat Australia in the second Test. However, after this defeat to England in the first Test, the PCB have had a change of heart.
Waqar had told the reporters in the course of the first Test, "One ( Mohammad Yousuf ) is retired - we can't bring someone back who is retired - and the other ( Younis Khan ) has serious issues with the (Pakistan) cricket board."
Yousuf's inclusion in the second Test will depend, amongst other things, on his availability which is currently stuck in visa problems.
