Vinod Kambli, a talented batsman, but better known as a childhood buddy of India's cricket icon, Sachin Tendulkar, he plans to don a new role.

Kambli had an envious record of two double centuries and two centuries in just seven test matches. He had some disciplinary issues and also some technical problems with short pitched fast bowling and had to give up his Test match career at a young age of 24. He continued to play for ODI's but gave up in the year 2000.
After nine years of acting in insignificant Bollywood movies, he decided to come on a dubiously sensational TV programme "Sach Ka Saamna" hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal on Star Plus. Now once up there in the hot seat, he decided to regain his lost ground to be once again in limelight.
When asked a deliberately pointed question about his expectations from his famous friend Sachin, Kambli could not resist. He admitted he had expectations that perhaps Sachin would help him in his cricket career. He also had issues with the BCCI because the cricket board discriminated against him because of his caste and colour. But always he came back,in fact he came back nine times and still wants to play cricket, he hasn't hung up his cricket pads till date.
Kambli is the Vice president of Lok Bharti, a political outfit which will fight for the rights of Maharastrians and wants to change the present leadership to a more youthful one, a fact that will be surely resented by the old stalwarts like Bal Thackerey and Sharad Pawar but if this change will actually take place, only time will tell.
After all the allegations Kambli has changed his tune, like a true politician even, he has blamed the media for misinterpreted his statement, in fact he went on to say that the person who gave the news report should undergo the polygraph test which is used to test whether the person is speaking the truth or lying.
