Amongst the many shocked reactions to the match fixing scandals, some of the comments made by Ricky Ponting and Matthew Hayden have startled the cricket world, drawing some rather provoked reactions.

The Australian captain is believed ot make comments ot the effect that the Australian team had "self belief in the DNA" and would not have conceded ever to indulging in such activites as spot fixing, while Matthew Hayden's comments have drawn flak.
Hayden was quoted as saying, "I believe it is a shock to cricket and if I can talk on behalf of Australian cricket and the playing group, it's just not even in our DNA to accept any kind of skulduggery when it comes to the game of cricket."
While Pakistan is at its lowest ebb and unbelievably so, but the rest of the cricket world has a few gripes with those statement. If one would recall, it was the early association with bookmakers that had Cricket Australia quietly deal with the matter revolving around Shane Warne and Mark Waugh only to have it come out in the open much later.
The Waugh twin and Warne went onto continue their career after the issues surrounding them were dismissed as merely giving out pitch and weather information.
Cricket experts have warned every other team to refrain from making such comments because corruption knows no boundaries. And it would be unwise to assume anything only to have the skeletons come out later.
