As expected South Africa's rookie bowler, Wayne Parnell, turned up the heat at the IPL 3 auctions. But eyes were equally on Shane Bond in Pool B of the auctions.

Parnell was expected to be one of the hot picks and expectedly team franchisees went into a cautious but frenzy bid for Parnell. He was eventually snapped up by the persistent Delhi Daredevils for $610,000, far from his base price of $200,000.
But attention turned next to the New Zealand fast bowler, Shane Bond, who had teams going steady in his pursuit with the Kolkata Knight Riders entering the fray after the price had steeped. For a base price of just $100,000, Bond's decision turned into a silent tiebreaker like with West Indies' Kieron Pollard.
The Deccan Chargers and the Kolkata Knight Riders entered the silent tiebreaker with KKR winning the bid for Shane Bond!
Mohammad Kaif who was dropped by the Rajasthan Royals found no takers.
