In a case of a good tit for tat in the case of wicket keepers, Matt Prior was given time to make himself ready for the fourth Test at Headingley, thanks to Ricky Ponting and his men.

In the third Test in Edgbaston, Brad Haddin injured himself just minutes before the start of play on the first day and at the request of the Australian team, Andrew Strauss, the England captain, allowed the Australian team to substitute Haddin with debutant Graham Manou after the team sheets had been exchanged and the toss was done with.

In the fourth Test of the Ashes at Headingley, Prior found himself fighting a back spasm at the time of the scheduled toss. The England team then requested the Australians to delay the toss by a half hour to see if he could recover. Luckily he did, but alas, could not save England from ignominy despite a thirty-seven in the first innings.
Had it not been for the extra half hour, Prior would have probably have been substituted.
