After damaging his jaw, hit by a bouncer in Bangladesh, Rahul Dravid underwent surgery that will essentially put him out of the series against South Africa.

Dravid, who suffered a fractured jaw as a result of the bouncer (which did not bounce as much as expected) from Shahadat Hossain in the second Test in Mirpur, Bangladesh, underwent surgery at the Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru to correct his upper left jaw.
Advised against contact sports for two-three weeks, Dravid's condition will be monitored from time to time before he returns to the Indian team.
