Raj Govt Sees Red Over Jaipur Omission

The Lok Sabha elections are yet to begin. But the off field battles are in full force. If one needs to look at acrimony in the aftermath of the elections, one need not look very far.

Lalit Modi lost the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) elections after much mud slinging on the part of both parties, who continue to take their battle further. Now with Jaipur being announced as one of the venues that are not likely to host IPL matches, the Rajasthan government has been vociferously issuing statements to the effect that the reason Jaipur is being taken off the list is not because they want central paramilitary forces as the IPL organizers are alleging but because Modi has found his revenge. The Congress party had earlier warned that Modi could not take IPL out of Jaipur and that the people of Jaipur would never forgive him if he did so.

The stinging battle started much before the elections, led to much controversy during and after the elections and it appears that this is a story not likely to die down easy, even as the Rajasthan Royals are now left without a home, so to speak.
