Raj Singh Dungarpur. That name has floated even since cricket came to be known to people such as myself. The last ten-fifteen years marked Dungarpur's rise as a cricket administrator and it was with a sense of sadness for the BCCI as another big name has bid adieu.

Dungarpur was the CCI (Cricket Club of India) President for thirteen years. He was also the BCCI President for three years from 1996 and also, headed the Indian selection panel. It was during this time that Sachin Tendulkar first made his debut for team India.
He was credited for the set up of the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.
A Ranji player for Rajasthan between 1955 and 1971, Dungarpur was reportedly suffering from Alzeimher's for the past few years and has now passed away at the age of seventy-three.
