In the financial irregularities that have figured since the IPL 3 controversy broke, the Rajasthan Royals have been in the eye of the storm. They are now upset at news that the franchisee could be in serious trouble with the board.

The Rajasthan Royals have reacted strongly to the news that the BCCI could well terminate their contract with the Rajasthan Royals franchisee after just three seasons going into IPL 4. Rajasthan Royals were the winners of the inaugural IPL.
They have issued a statement accordingly, "The recent media reports about BCCI proposing to cancel Rajasthan Royals franchise agreement are entirely baseless and highly speculative. There is no such move or information from the BCCI which would suggest anything to this effect.
"These rumours have been clearly perpetrated by people with vested interests and are deliberately aimed at maligning the reputation of the Royals and causing them harm. We are shocked at such reporting, which unnecessarily undermines the Royals and is extremely damaging.
"We register our strong objection against such speculative and defamatory reporting."
