The Pakistan cricketers are alleged to have indulged in at least spot fixing that was exposed during the fourth Test at Lord's in the ongoing England Pakistan Test series.
The ICC had received warnings earlier from Rashid Latif in hsi advisory role that even though blatant match fixing may be getting curbed, the scope for tinkering with less discernible matters within the game was wide open and should be investigated and clamped down upon.
The recall has come after Mazhar Majeed claimed to an undercover reporter in England about spot fixing involving some of the Pakistan bowlers bowling no balls in a premeditated effort. It may also be remembered that Latif had levelled similar allegations against the IPL which the BCCI squashed. With the Indian angle to the bookies, perhaps there is a case for looking beyond the limitations of the current case.
