The Pakistan cricket team in back in full swing, well almost as a wide range of punishments were either reduced, or plain removed.

None would have been more pleased that the present Pakistan captain and a former Pakistan captain - no, not Mohammad Yousuf.
Shahid Afridi was given reason to rejoice as the Pakistan Cricket Board will not demand that the Pakistan captain pay the fine imposed on him over ball tampering charges. Younis Khan, who refused to get off the battle till he was fully cleared of all charges and the indefinite ban on him lifted, got what he wanted. And even the Akmal brothers, Kamran and Umar, had their fines reduced to Rs.1 million.

Explaining the reason for lifting the fine on Afridi, Justice Irfan Qadir said,"The ICC has written a letter to the PCB indicating that the second punishment is wrong. I must appreciate that Afridi accepted his wrongdoing. He accepted that he should not have done it but since he realised it himself I thought that was good and so removed the order on him." Afridi was earlier banned by the ICC for two Twenty20 matches after being charged with ball tampering while trying to bite into the ball while on tour in Australia.
However, the PCB is adamant that this is not undermining their power when they initially set the punishments but rather it was the outcome of the players themselves filing an appeal and get their side of the hearing into the matter.
There is one man whose punishment is still a matter of intrigue for him - Rana Naved ul Hasan.
