Steve Rixon is just one of the many voices that are working against Ricky Ponting at the moment.

Rixon, who also coached the New Zealand team, has stated that he did not think Ponting as a captain as much as he respected him as a batsman. He felt this second Ashes defeat only confirmed his thoughts.
He felt Australia had become too "soft" under Ponting and wanted to see someone like Simon Katich as captain of the Australian team for his aggressive attitude.
