Brett Lee's expected return to the Ashes has been fraught with worries. It appears few people are batting for him apart from Shane Warne and Cricket Australia selectors.

Australian coach Tim Nielsen has already indicated that Peter Siddle will share the ball with Mitchell Johnson. That has made Lee's position difficult because he must now fight off Ben Hilfenhaus for the third spot and not many are giving him much of a chance.
Former Pakistan coach Geoff Lawson believes Lee has spent too much time away from the crease and on the verge of celebrating his thirty-third birthday, Lee has been overtaken by younger players while Lee has not been the same after the news of his divorce from Liz Kemp and ankle injury.
Cricket writer Peter Roebuck was of similar views a few months ago when Australia toured South Africa stating that the new bunch of bowlers had proven their mettle and that Lee would find it hard to regain his place back.
Now it depends on the Australian captain Ricky Ponting on how he wants to play Lee. Certainly Lee would think making his debut perhaps easier than having to make a comeback.
