SA Eng T20I 2: Smith, Bosman Tear into England in Thumping Win

South Africa put behind the disappoint of losing the first Twenty20 against England in Johannesburg with a thumping victory in the second match in Centurion.

South Africa left England with an improbable proposition, making 241 for six in their Twenty20 overs. That colossal score came about due to another bombastic start by the South African captain, Graeme Smith, and Loots Bosman.

England, missing Paul Collingwood but bolstered by the rushed return of Kevin Pietersen, were led by Alastair Cook in a match where little went his way. South Africa's opening batsmen tore into the England bowlers without mercy and it rained sixes by the dozen.

Cook appeared to be rotating his bowlers at whim rather than by ploy because it did not matter what bowler Smith and Bosman were facing. In the eighth over, Bosman slammed four sixes off Sajid Mahmood, leaving England feeling hollow very early.

Smith hit eighty-eight runs from just sixty-six balls while Bosman missed out on a century as well, making ninety-four from forty-five balls.

In reply, England's Jonathan Trott managed a half century and Cook and KP got decent starts in the 20s. But to get England anywhere close to South Africa's total, they needed to be rambunctious. But that never came, as England lost the match by a whopping margin of eighty-four runs despite making 157 to square the series 1-1.
