Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers scored individual ODI centuries as South Africa put up a formidable first innings total of 280. The duo silenced the hosts after putting up a 129 run partnership for the third wicket after Dwayne Bravo scalped Jacques Kallis and Graeme Smith in successive overs to leave South Africa at fifty-seven for two.

That partnership and the double century blow pushed West Indies on the back foot despite Chris Gayle

s hafl century and Ramnaresh Sarwan trying in desperation but thirty-eight runs were never going to be enough. Kieron Pollard used some of his muscles in the forty-four run innings before Morne Morkel struck for the third time. With Dale Steyn, Ryan McLaren and even Johan Botha chipping in with two wickets apiece, West Indies' revised target of 282 from forty-eight overs saw them manage just 215 all out in 44.1 overs.
