West Indies were staring down the barrel at the end of the second day's play of the second Test between South Africa and the West Indies at Warner Park, Basseterrre, St. Kitts as two more SOuth African batsmen notched up centuries.

Jacques Kallis and AB de Villiers followed in the footsteps of captain Graeme Smith in registering Test centuries as South Africa moved into a situation of firm command, despite rain affecting the progress of play.
Kallis was already moving into a potential triple digit attempt overnight and he capitalized on his work from the previous day by coverting into a century that pushed South Africa further into a situation that cannot see them failing to win the second Test. AB de Villiers' century then only added in the furtherance of those plans.
Even Smith declared the innings at 543 for six, which left the hosts with an enormous task, Shane Shillingfor'ds three wickets notwithstanding. The West Indies captain, Chris Gayle, put up a dogged fight to remain unbeaten on forty-two at stumps, but the disappointment at losing Travis Dowlin as his opening partner rather early was easily apparent on his face. Narsingh Deonarine put on his nightwatchman cap and steadied matters with the captain to take West Indies to eighty-six for one at stumps without further drama.
