Sachin Tendulkar's innings appears like a hangover this morning. Shrouded by India's stunning defeat, Tendulkar continues to make the heart want to rewrite the ending and fashion a win that India should have had. Tendulkar was not feeling very different.

After the fifth ODI in Hyderabad of the seven India Australia ODI series, Sachin Tendulkar would have had bitter sweet emotions. On the one hand, he had achieved a huge milestone of 17000 ODI runs and built another memorable innings along the way. On that other hand, India fell short by three runs to give Australia a 3-2 lead in the series.
Sachin Tendulkar spoke about the pressure of chasing 350 and how India had managed to deal with it right till the end only to lose it by three runs. Calling it disappointment, it was obvious that the defeat had taken the sheen of Tendulkar's glory and perhaps he was more disappointed than anyone else.
Referring to this innings as "one of my best innings", Sachin Tendulkar perhaps gives this innings weightage simply because the task was enormous but the manner in which he went about did not give the opposition an opportunity to believe they had enough on board. Indeed he was striking the ball rather well as he himself stated, but also, Tendulkar did not play a false stroke through his innings, except perhaps the shot that finally caused his wicket.
Sachin Tendulkar also answered the question of what kept him going all these years, more precisely, two decades. While the question has irked Sourav Ganguly, Tendulkar simply stated, "The passion - I care about playing for India. It's always been a dream and I'm absolutely honoured that I've been able to do that for the past 20 years."
What more can one say about the modesty of the guy that is quite contrary to his achievements.
