It was a procession, back to the pavilion. Jolted by the thunderous innings of Sachin Tendulkar in partnership first with Dinesh Karthik and a whirlwind knock of 68 runs from just thirty-five balls, South Africa were reduced to four down for eighty-three by the eleventh over, South African captain, Jacques Kallis, bowled by Ashish Nehra for eleven.

From the top order, only Hashim Amla managed to make thirty-four fluent runs. And it took a late order save from AB de Villiers and Wayne Parnell, putting together seventy-seven runs for the eighth wicket to adding some respectability to South Africa's lost proceedings.

AB de Villiers survived the storm to add a century of his own. But it took some daredevilry because he was running out of partners.
AB finished on an unbeaten 114, but South Africa collapsed for 248 by the 43rd over, losing the match by 153 runs even as Sachin Tendulkar will have pavilion named after him as India snatch the no.2 ranking in the ICC ODI rankings from South Africa.
