Here is the stark reality. And once again the women's cricket team must feel like there simply is not justice. Ironically the BCCI is pocketing more from the same sponsor even as other teams are left out in the cold.

Sahara group will be the sponsors for the Indian cricket team till the 31st of December, 2013, the BCCI announced on Monday. What this essentially means is that BCCI have been able to retain the same sponsor ( Bharti Aitel bidding lower than Sahara ) for a higher price that in previous agreements. Apparently Sahara bid for Rs.3.34 crore per match ( Tests, ODIs or Twenty20s ) as against the BCCI base price of Rs. 2.5 crore per match.
However, the Indian women and the India under - 19 teams did not get Sahara's vote, in fact there were no bids at all. The Indian women will feel aggrieved especially after they outqualified the men in the recently concluded 2010 ICC World Twenty20 in the Caribbean but lost to Australia in the semi final.
