The Sri Lankan captain is not too happy that cricket is losing eye balls and he is particularly upset that Sri Lanka has had very little Test cricket, especially when it comes to touring abroad.

Kumar Sangakkara spoke out about the need to recamp interet in cricket with numbers dwindling not only for Test cricket but also, in the shorter formats in the past one year.
Sangakkara believes there is a need to woo fans back and he feels Test cricket could get a fillip through a Test cricket championship and day and night Test cricket.
Sangakkara also believed it would be worthwhile to give the IPL its window in the Future Tours Programme ( FTP ).
He also called for the FTP to show a more balanced approach to ensuring that all teams received a fair amount and allocation of Test cricket amongst other things.
He spoke about the fact that Sri Lanka would only be touring England for a Test series after a gap of five years in 2011. And he also spoke of the fact that South Africa have not been their cricket destination since 2002. Sangakkara also lamented on the fact that their home itinerary this year only included West Indies until India decided to play the Test series there.
