There will be no missing of the barrel of a gun or that the snare of the sniper on this tour. Not only are England aware of that, but also, the fans will be greeted with similar welcome.

There is no doubt that England would have embarked on a return tour to India without the security blanket provided to them. That was the only way to allow international cricket back into the country under the present circumstances in the light of the recent attacks in Mumbai.
There are suggestions that 300 commandos will be patrolling the hotel area which will also be cordoned off for non guests. Whether this was again an information that needed to be told can be questioned.
Apparently the players will be separated from the crowds as spectators will have to see through nets dropped from the roof of the stadium. Whether that actually happens tomorrow will only be seen when play gets underway.
At the moment, there is little player interaction with the fans who would have wanted to take snaps or autographs during the practice sessions.

While players like Andrew Flintoff has stated that the team is in full awareness of the security concerns as they are constantly surrounded by the men sworn in to protect their lives, Kevin Pietersen has warned his team that they have embarked on this tour to win the Test series and the heavy security blanket will not become an excuse at any point on the tour.
