After quitting the Indian vice captaincy, Sehwag has chosen to step down from the Delhi Daredevils captaincy as well.

Sehwag has now taken his batting career to the top priority (was it not always?). Stating that he wanted to concentrate solely on his batting, Sehwag intimated his IPL team apparently at the end of the IPL 2 in South Africa.
Sehwag had earlier stepped down from the Indian vice captaincy, stating that the Indian team had better groom a future captain. Now apparently he has handed the baton to Gautam Gambhir.
In the mean time, it is the return to fitness that Sehwag will be concentrating on even as he misses out on the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa, another ICC event missed after he could not play despite travelling with Indian team for the ICC World Twenty20 in England.
