The likes of Virender Sehwag, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar are others are arriving in batches in South Africa in view of the upcoming India South Africa series. And knowing how the Tests could be a gruelling series for the no.1 Test team who want to conquer the team they displaced at the top on their turf, this is the first step to ensuring that India are well prepapred.
In South Africa, Gary Kirsten, the Indian coach, wants the players to get as much as practice in the nets as possible to acclimatize themselves to the task by the time the first Test gets underway in mid December. In that regard, Kirsten has taken on the onus himself, leaving the Indian cricket team for the New Zealand series to take the early flight to South Africa.
Considered one of the most rigourous tests for India in the present scenario, the coach is keen not to leave any stone unturned for the big match series. Although not a stronger believer himself in how the preparation eventually plans out, Kirsten is keen that the team get into the frame of mind of pursuing on the note of hard work so they are ready when the moment arrives.
