Shahid Afridi seems to be changing his mind, tussling with respect to Test cricket. Just days after stating that he would be available for Pakistan’s Test squad against South Africa if required, Pakistan’s Twenty20 and ODI captain has suggested he has had enough.

Afridi feels that inconsistency in being selected for Pakistan’s Test team has eventually killed the spirit to play Test cricket and that he no longer has the desire to return to the five day format. He also feels that his time in the international cricket schedule is grueling enough and that there would not be enough place for Test cricket.
He does not necessarily share the views with regard to the ODI team that he leads. In anything, he hopes to continue working with the team for anywhere between two to three years and helping shape Pakistan cricket’s journey to the top.
Afridi played just one Test as captain recently against Australia after deciding to step down. Afridi is a lot more active on the Twenty20 scene, after being highly sought after in other cricket nations as well.
Interesting Afridi was once again appointed Pakistan's Twenty20 and ODI captain against South Africa and yet slapped with a showcause notice by the PCB for talking on issues Pakistan does not want Afridi to be vocal about.
