One IPL captain is not happy with another. And the centre of the storm is the status of the pitch.

Increasingly as the IPL 4 season has worn on, the claws are slowly but surely coming out. Where earlier cricketers were weary from passing early judgements, as the heat is turned up, literally and metaphorically speaking, so as the consternation among captains.

Sachin Tendulkar, the Mumbai Indians captain, certainly did not enjoy a royal bash on Friday when the Rajasthan Royals bowled Mumbai Indians out cheaply. Although Tendulkar did credit the Rajasthan Royals on their fielding and bowling, he did not shy away from stating that the pitch behaving out of the ordinary, and that some of the balls kept low to disconcert the batsmen.

Those comments apparently led to a close scrutiny of the pitch at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, home of the Rajasthan Royals, with a pitch inspector in tow. That did not go down well with the Rajasthan Royals captain, Shane Warne, who is miffed that his team's bowling performance is being slighted by the reports on the pitch conditions.

Instead Shane Warne has, in turn, pointed fingers suggesting that a few other IPL venues have also had dubious pitch conditions in the very least and that Rajasthan Royals did not deserve to be singled out, a claim a few more cricketers are backing. It is certainly getting hot in more ways than one.
